The carpet sample is fixed by a steel template. Hold one end of the tuft to be tested with a pair of surgical forceps, or hook a loop with a metal hook. When the tension reaches its limit, the balance shows the required maximum tension. The maximum tension of the balance of the standard instrument is 5kg.
